Hotelier Vikram Chatwal (of the Dream Hotel in NYC) opened his newest property this weekend, The Dream Cochin in Cochin, India. With 151 guest rooms, 24-hour Concierge, 3 restaurants and 2 lounges, the hotel has already been accredited as a 5-star property. The opening celebration took place at the High Bar on the roof, where friends like Jade Jagger, Fern Mallis, Peter Davis, and Billy Farrell flew all the way from New York City to India to help Vikram celebrate.

Best Time to Frolic:
If you don't mind a bit of rain, the high season (Jan/Feb) begins just after Christmas day and runs through the end of Carnival. The beaches are jumping with TV stars, models and the International jet-set. During this time partying is at an all time high, which also equates to tougher entry, and the beautiful people are plentiful.
Insider Tips:
Come dressed to kill with a couple of lovely ladies with you. Entry will probably be very exclusive. Depending on the night, there may be a $1500 alcohol credit for entry. To avoid this charge, get connected with one of the clubs PR people or book a room in a high end hotel that can get access for its guests. It can save you some dough. Also, brush up on your Portuguese and body language. English is spoken at a minimum.
